The past year has proven to be a period of great complexity, both at the international level and for our business sector, revealing a highly heterogeneous economic landscape.

In fact, the events that have characterized the last 12 months have continued to intertwine situations that, starting from geopolitics, have spilled over into the social sphere and the economic sector.

Significant challenges still remain within the Italian supply chain, which appears fragmented across its individual segments, despite clear examples of success, in which large groups have sought to unite the entire supply chain within a single partnership project.

The growing awareness of consumers also places the supply chain in a position where it must pursue production with high quality standards and strong elements of ethical and environmental sustainability.

The role of the breeder nevertheless remains crucial and strategic for the sector, capable of offering employment opportunities and social stability.

These are the reasons that drive the farmers associated with Opas to continue being agricultural entrepreneurs.
